Jack Irish

A couple of interesting TV movies came out of Australia last year, with Guy Pearce playing the title role of Jack Irish in Black Tide and Bad Debts, based on novels by Peter Temple.

Not exactly the same tone as Jesse Stone, but for me they seemed to scratch the same itch. They're making a couple more. Worth looking out for.

Thanks for the recommendation; I enjoyed both of these. Guy Pearce was very watchable, and it was good to see the return of some of the Underbelly cast.

I'll definitely be looking out for more.

I have a recommendation of my own for you. I recently learned about an Irish gangland drama called Love/Hate, and have just started on Season One (it's only four episodes). More like the aforementioned Underbelly than The Sopranos, it's been pretty satisfying so far.
